Mrs. stepp's CLASS

4th Grade Reading, Writing & Social Studies

WELCOME!

Hello 4th grade wolves and families. My name is Jolie Stepp and I'm thrilled to be your students 4th grade ELAR and Social Studies teacher this year. This is my fifth year at EP Rayzor. Both of my children have attended EP Rayzor, and I can tell you that this school is the BEST!

It's my hope that your kiddo falls in love with social studies this year. Many adults will tell you that they don't enjoy history. It's my goal that your learner will be intrigued with stories from the past, and learn how Texas became the Lone Star State.

As your students reading, writing, and grammar teacher, it's my goal for them to enjoy reading! I hope to cultivate a love for reading fiction, non-fiction, and historical fiction genres this year.  Students will also dive into the writing process to create opinion essays, and literary texts. We will explore poetry and figurative language, along with the arc of stories.

About me

I was raised in Keller Texas and graduated from the University of North Texas.  My husband, Ryan, and I met in 7th grade science class.( Maybe this is why I love science so much!)

We have two kids, Brayden and Rylie. Brayden is a freshman at Guyer High School this year, and he spends all of his time running for the cross country team. Rylie is a 6th grader at Harpool! She loves cheer and theatre. We have two cats and a leopard gecko! My family loves the mountains, vacations, and watching movies as a family.

These are a few of my favorite things:

color: olive green, black, all shades of pink

snack: fresh fruit, siete chips, chips and salsa, lightly salted nuts

drinks: decaffeinated herbal tea like lemon or begal tiger tea, decaf coffee

classroom items: hand sanitizer, snacks for the kiddos, prize box items

Thank you for checking out my Amazon Wishlist! These items help out tremedously and are greatly appreciated!
