I enjoy utilizing the Class Dojo app because it creates an easy and convenient way to communicate with parents! For example, each parent can individually contact me with any questions/concerns or inform me of changes in their child’s dismissal plan. Parents/caregivers and the teacher can also communicate via one group thread to allow seamless communication. Also, homework assignments, upcoming assessments, and reminders are sent directly to each parent at 3:00pm via the app.

Classroom reminders, assessment dates, updates, and photos of in-class activities and projects will be posted on the Class Story, which keeps the parents in the loop and allows parents to see first-hand all the exciting things their child is accomplishing in 1st grade!

Class Dojo also encourages the students to be responsible, independent, and accountable for themselves in school with positive rewards. For example, students can earn unlimited points for helping others, actively participating in class, etc. Which they can trade in for many prizes such as a homework pass, show and tell pass, etc. Over the years, I have found this system continuously engages and motivates the students to be their best and try their best in school!
