Greetings Parents, Families & Friends.

Welcome to 5th Grade! I'm looking forward to another fantastic year here at the Ranch.

5th Grade can be a bit daunting to kids when they first come in, because there is a lot to learn, but they quickly find out they can do it. This year, in particular, we definitely have challenges ahead of us, but as a team, we can get this done. I believe communication is going to be key. I appreciate your help and support, and I look forward to getting to know you and your child.

CLASSTAG

This year we will be using Classtag as our main source of communication. Through Classtag, we can email each other privately, but it also allows me to make class-wide announcements . I will also use Classtag to schedule Parent/Teacher Conferences. Please make sure that you connect with me through Classtag within the first week of school.

AT HOME LEARNING

Some tips for success!

1. Set a schedule/routine for each day and stick to it.

2. Go to bed and get a good night sleep like you would for in-school learning.

3. Set up a learning space that is free of distractions and where you can write and work efficiently.

4. Keep your materials organized so that you know where everything is and you're ready to learn.

5. Each night, make sure your Chromebook is charged so that it's ready to go the next day.

6. Show up to class on time and participate in discussions and activities.

7. Do your work.

8. Ask questions when you don't understand something.
