2nd Grade Digital Learning

Hello Room 17 families! I have loved being your child's teacher this school year and although we can't be together right now, I am confident that we can work together to provide the best possible online learning experience. When you are educating your children, I am here to help! Send me an email at any time if you are having questions. As always, thank you for taking an active role in the education of your child!

In the coming weeks you will be receiving a learning packet to work from at home. Included in this packet will be a daily schedule and lesson plan sheet for each day. Follow the schedule to the best of your ability. If needed, please adjust it to meet your daily needs. Your packet will contain the following information:

1.AR at Home

Reading is Key! Please have your child choose a book from home or any of the following online resources: Libby, FCOE tumblebooks, EPIC. After reading the book, students may test on their AR book at AR/Reinaissance Place. You can use AR Bookfind to search titles to see if a book is an AR book. It will give you the book level and quiz number. Remember, in addition to AR your child can choose to read independently, listen to a read aloud, or read with you are a family member.

2. Math

A daily math page will be given on the specific standard we are working on. IXL and Big Brainz are great additional online resources.

3. ELA/Language

Some weeks will include a story form our Journey's Curriculum. You can listen the read alouds online or read the story in the packet. Comprehension worksheets will be given for our story of the week. You will also receive language convention pages for the specific convention we are working on.

4. Science/History

Weeks may vary with different activities. Some weeks may include Scholastic News' with accompanying worksheets. Other weeks we will work through our TWIG Science lessons.

5. Spelling

Each week we will work through different spelling lists that focus on spelling patterns. Worksheets include Rainbow Write, Spelling Sort, Skills Practice, Trace Copy Rewrite. Spelling City is an additional resource with fun games that work on our weekly spelling list.

We know that our learners need routine! I have created a daily schedule to help you stay on track! Please note, you may adjust this to your needs! Try your best and do as much as you can!
