Our Reading class will consist mostly of selections from our Literature book, as well as Listening and independent reading, and a few novels. We will explore and practice various forms of Writing and strengthen our Public Speaking skills. Grammar and vocabulary lessons will be incorporated into our reading and writing experiences.
Please have a book for independent reading with you every day.
Homework will consist of both written review and studying; you will typically be assigned one or two workbook pages and study every night. We may or not complete the assignments in class; if we don't, they are homework.
If you don't understand how to do something, please reach out to your classmates and/or a parent/guardian.
If you still don't understand it, please get a parent/guardian signature so I know you at least attempted to do it. If you don't do this, it may be treated as an incomplete assignment.
3 missed or incomplete assignments (per trimester) will result in a demerit. This is to help you maintain a good work ethic and enlist the help of your parents/guardians if necessary.
