Coding

Congratulations to those of you who participated in the Coding Contest. I hope you enjoyed your field trip to Vivint!

We kicked off our coding unit during Computer Science Education Week (December 3-9). We are now in the midst of coding! Students in 1st-6th have been working at their own pace using their individual code.org accounts.

2nd-6th graders have learned Scratch, which allows more creativity. Scratch is more project-based.

1st graders will use Scratch Jr. (for ages 5-7). It is a simpler version Scratch. It will help prepare students to use Scratch next year.

We will also be using Dash robots with ipads to encourage coding through robotics. Ask your student about coding in the lab! Click on the links below for more information.
