Hi! My name is Mrs. Amy Michaelsen!  I am a 2nd Grade teacher at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic School.   This is my 16th year teaching. I taught 2nd grade for 10 years at Patriot Elementary, and then had the pleasure of opening and teaching for 3 years at Ashbury Elementary (Papillion-La Vista School District). I am excited to say that this is my third year in second grade here at St. Stephens.

I graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 2010.  I also received my Master’s Degree from Doane University in Curriculum and Instruction.

My husband (Adam) and I have three children, Will (11), Everly (9), and Theo (5).  We love being outside and spending time together!

I believe that each child is unique and each child learns in a different way. One of my jobs as a teacher is to help each child discover his or her individuality and work alongside them to maximize it. I believe in hands-on experiences and learning creatively, and I strive to create a positive and engaging learning environment each and every day!
