Hello and welcome to Mrs. Marinello's 4th grade class at Apex Friendship Elementary School.  I am so excited to be working with you and your child to ensure that fourth grade is a rewarding and very successful year! Let me tell you a little bit more about myself.

I graduated from Geneseo State University, New York in 2000 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education.  I went on to get a Master's degree in Elementary Education with a reading concentration from Buffalo State College.  I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade at a private school for 3 years and then taught 7th grade special education before relocating to Cary, North Carolina in July 2004.  I taught at Highcroft Drive Elementary in Cary, NC for 18 years; 10 years in third grade and 8 years in fourth grade.  In the spring of 2022 I accepted a 4th grade position at AFES and I am so excited to be a Shooting Star!! 

​I grew up in Grand Island, NY, a suburb of Buffalo and lived there for 26 years. My parents and brother still live in the Buffalo area, but they enjoy visiting me down south several times a year to escape the cold and snow.   All of my students know I'm an avid Buffalo sports fan.  I love to watch Buffalo Bills football and Buffalo Sabres hockey.  I've been married for 18 years and have two wonderful children. Adeleia is almost 14 and about to start 8th grade at AFMS. My son, Jake, is 11 years old and going into 6th grade also at AFMS. They keep me very busy outside of school!  In my spare time I enjoy reading children's books, going to country concerts, exercising, cooking, shopping and traveling.
