GOOGLE CLASSROOM CODES:

Please use the codes below to join Mrs. LeMay's Google Classrooms. Make sure that you are signed into only your student Google account at the time you try to join. Student Google accounts are set up as firstname.lastname@whitebead.net. For example, if John Smith was a student at Whitebead, then their Google account would be john.smith@whitebead.net.

After you have signed into the Google account, find the 9 dots in the upper right-hand corner. Click it and find "Classroom" with the icon of a chalkboard and click. Then click the + sign at the top right-hand corner and click "Join Class". Enter the code below for the student's math class.

Parents and students,

Please join REMIND for my classes. The chat feature is enabled and students may ask questions via Remind if they are 13 years old or older. Children under 13 will need to submit questions from their parent's account with parental permission.

Exact Path provides math instruction at the student's level of need and will adapt to the instruction needs of the child.

POWERSCHOOL:

  • Please contact the office to receive Powerschool login information. Powerschool keeps track of attendance, lunch bills, and grades. Powerschool website works on computers and handheld devices or there is an app that may be downloaded.

ASSIGNMENTS:

Weekly assignments are posted on the assignment board on Monday mornings. Students are encouraged to write all assignments down in a planner or notebook weekly. Please use Powerschool to check assignment grades and class averages weekly. All assignments must be completed by showing student's work using a pencil. Any assignments that students grade must be graded and corrected in ink.

Types of assignments:

  • Math Minutes: Math minutes are warm-ups and are sets of 10 questions for review or for exposure to grade level content. They must be graded and corrected in ink. Grades are put in the gradebook once a nine-week period.

  • Daily Work: Assignments will be given in class and any unfinished questions at the end of the class time will need to be finished at home that night. Most assignments will be worth between 10-25 points. Papers must be graded and corrected in ink.

  • Quizzes: Quizzes may be scheduled or pop quiz style assignments. Quizzes are generally worth 30 points.

  • Test Review: Test reviews are usually given at least 1 day in advance of class test. Reviews may be recorded grades or used for review purposes only.

  • Tests: Chapter tests are worth 100 points each and may have a bonus question(s).

  • Accelerated Math: Diagnostic tests, practices, exercises, and tests will be used.

  • Activities and Participation Assignments: Students may complete a scavenger hunt, hands-on activity, "scoot" game, calculator or graphing calculator activity, etc. as part of instructional time. Points on these activities will vary greatly and points will be determined by the teacher.

  • Distance Learning & Other Online Activities: Student's will complete various online assignments as part of their daily in class instruction and as part of the distance learning curriculum. Students may view assignments on their Google Classroom (instructions to join above). Assignments may be from Exact Path, Accelerated Math, Glencoe, BrainPOP, YouTube or various other websites.

ABSENT WORK:

  • Students now have access to all assignments (even when absent) through Google Classroom. If a student is absent, they are expected to access and complete lesson(s) using Google Classroom, their textbook logins or other online creditentails.

  • If a student knows that he/she will be absent in advance, the student should request assignments in advance of absence.

  • Students will need to check Google Classroom, the "Assignment" board and/or "Absent Work" folder to determine what lesson(s) they missed while absent and to receive any worksheets needed during their absence.

  • All assignments in a chapter must be completed no later than the chapter test.

LATE WORK:

  • Assignments that are not graded at the designated time and turned in on time will be considered late.

  • Late assignment scores will be penalized up to 25% for 1 day late and up to 50% if more than 1 day late. This penalty is in addition to incorrect responses.

  • All assignments in a chapter must be completed no later than the chapter test.

  • If a student has lost a worksheet assignment, extras may be located in the designated file basket. If there are not extra preprinted worksheets, it is the student's responsibility to print an extra copy using their online textbook access.
