Drummers will be bringing their drum to school once a week for their lessons.
Renting a snare drum kit
If you rent a drum from Music and Arts, it will be $160 for the school year and you will have everything you need. The price does go towards a purchase if you continue to rent to own. It includes the drum, the drum stand, a case (usually a rolling case), sticks, and a practice pad. If something doesn't work right for you or breaks, they will exchange it to ensure you have a working instrument. It is nice to have this guarantee in place.

Looking to purchase a drum kit
Drums are not as expensive as most other band instruments. If you are looking for a recommended purchase option, this link is my top recommendation in terms of brand and pricing. It has a great rolling case, a drum stand that raises to tall heights, and a good sounding drum as well as a practice pad and sticks.
Already own a snare drum
If you own a snare drum and stand and would like to use that for lessons, here is what you will need:
A case that will hold the snare and snare drum stand. There are rolling cases as well as backpack styles.
Snare drum with standard diameter - 14 inches
Snare drum stand that raises high enough (when snare is mounted on the stand, the top of the drum should come up to their waist level). Stands from drum sets often do not raise anywhere high enough for a student to stand and play.
Drum sticks - my recommendation for playing in a concert band - Vic Firth SD2 Bolero - amazon link
