Students should have read a book from the Summer Reading List given to them from the District by now and should be ready to complete their project. This is a requirement of all 6th Grade students. Both parts of the project will be completed in class and each will count as a Formative Grade for this Quarter.
8/26-8/30 - This week we will focus on setting students' up for success! We will complete our first AOW together. This will become a weekly homework assignment, but I want them each to understand what is expected of them each week. We will end the week by reviewing Elements of Fiction, most of this should be relatively familiar and just a review. We will also learn how to take Doodle Notes! This is a research based strategy for note taking and it helps that it is SUPER FUN! You can read an article here: https://minds-in-bloom.com/brain-based-doodle-notes-education/
