Literacy

Tuesday - DLR, Handwriting/Cursive, Grammar, Pixar Short, Literacy Lesson, Writing
Wednesday - DLR, Handwriting/Cursive, Reading Standard Notebooks, We Will Write (online writing program)
Thursday - DLR, Handwriting/Cursive, Morphology, Reading Comprehension/Fluency, Writing, Spelling
Friday - DLR, Handwriting/Cursive, Spelling Test, Writing, Weekly Quiz, and 30 minutes to finish all work from the week.
Writing
Each week we have a new writing prompt. We spend the week going through the writing process.
We start the year learning how to write a strong narrative paragraph. Then about half way through the year we write short argumentative essays, and by the end of the year we are writing 5 paragraph research papers.
Spelling
I use the program called "Words Their Way".
Students are placed into one of two groups based on the specific writing patterns they have yet to master.
Words will be sent home on paper if students would like the extra practice. Otherwise, we practice spelling words throughout the week, and test on Friday's.
Math
At the start of class we do a review question(s) from the previous lesson then we move on to the math lesson of the day.
After lunch we have math centers. This also allows time for me to meet with students indvidually and provide interventions based on their needs.
Homeroom
Monday - recycle, CNN10, pe, spanish(2-3pm)
Tuesday - recycle, CNN10, science, history
Wednesday - CNN10, science, history, spanish(2-3pm)
Thursday - rotations(1-3pm)
Friday - CNN10, science, history
