As we prepare for a new year, it is extremely important that we understand how and work together to create a positive and healthy learning environment. Read on to learn about the behaviors we should expect from one another to do so.
First and foremost is RESPECT. Respect yourself, your teacher and your classmates at all times.
Arrive to class on time and ready to learn. Focus on the present and think positively. Whatever else has happened that day is in the past. You have a new beginning each time you walk in-use it to your advantage!
If you need to sharpen your pencil, do so BEFORE class begins. This way, you will not be distracted, or distract your classmates while the lesson for the day is being presented.
Keep any and all materials (THIS INCLUDES CELL PHONES) in the desk. The only materials on your desk should be those that are for Language Arts class. Assignments being done for classes other than Language Arts will be confiscated. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Raise your hand if you have a question or answer.
Do not speak while others are speaking.
NO EATING in class. You may have a water bottle, as long is it is not a distraction.
Please clean up after yourself. If you drop something on the floor, or have scrap paper, please dispose of it in the trash can on your way out of class.
