Creative Writing is a course designed for high school students who want to develop their writing style, imagination, and storytelling skills. Students will write across multiple genres, including short fiction, poetry, personal narrative, and creative nonfiction.
Through writing workshops, mentor texts, and guided revision, students will learn how to craft compelling characters, vivid settings, meaningful conflict, and powerful imagery. The course emphasizes creativity, and thoughtful revision. Students will participate in peer workshops, produce writing in many different genres, and build a portfolio of polished work by the end of the year.
