Dear Families,
Occasionally, films and videos are used to illustrate or bolster the understanding of particular curricular-related concepts. The students will have an opportunity to earn extra credit by viewing a series of films and completing an assignment attached to them.
The assignment is to be a typed document, minimum of 3 pages per film (double spaced, times new roman, 12 point font, 1 inch margins, single sided) that provides the following:
A synopsis of the film that addresses the greater historical context of the film
An evaluation of the extent to which the film was historically accurate (how true to history the film was)
An evaluation of the extent to which the film was historically authentic (how possible the story would have been to occur at that point in history, why or why not)
The Extra Credit is worth One Test Grade
Students are to complete the assignment on a minimum of 3 films per quarter, and there is no partial credit. The Extra Credit does not apply to Z's.
Because of the ratings of the films, parental permission is necessary for the student to watch the films and complete the assignment. Permission is to be granted via THIS GOOGLE FORM.
