Mr.Pawmantic is a fictional character created in 2020 by Mariana Benkovic a Croatian art conservation specialist and illustrator.
He is a skinny black cat with a regal attitude and grumpy disposition.
His favourite sentences are Human, you know nothing! and Stop it, Human! While voicing his displeasure or just plain ignoring the consequences of his deeds.
He has made a friend, a Bat while contemplating the moon. He lovingly refers to his friends as the Flying insect.

Mr. Pawmantic came to be as a combination of a dare and my wonderful grumpy cat Balusa's attitude. My love and fascination for cats and comics were joined together. Mr.Pawmantic is drawn digitally and his story is still evolving.
There are two main ways of the process:
Since I find inspiration in daily events in our life with cats mixed with my own cat loving character I believe it is a comic strip every cat owner will understand and hopefully love :)

- I get an idea and I draw an outline of the concept on a piece of paper, or
- I stare at the blank paper until something comes to mind.
- then whit something on paper I take the concept and turn on my computer

Hello everyone! My name is Mariana and in 1984 my life was changed forever. I was in the first grade when my mother bought me my first Garfield book. I was just blown away: by the cat, by the comics by the humour and from that day on my love for comic strips just grew and grew. I could never get enough of comics from Hagar the Horrible to Modesty Blaze, to Flash Gordon, to Mickey Mouse, to Alan Ford. So it finally the time was right for me to join the crazy world of comic strip crators :)
