About Me

Here's just a little information about me. I grew up in Hershey, Nebraska, a town of 500 people, which doubled in population when school was in session (2 x 500 = ?). I went to the University of Wyoming in Laramie to earn my B.A. in English many years ago (2018- 1995 = ?). After university, I spent time living in Denver, Seattle, Phoenix before settling in the Bay Area almost two decades ago. I spent the majority of the time working as a stock broker for a brokerage firm.

I also taught English as a Second Language in Chiba, Japan for 36 months (36/12 = ? years) which was a wonderful and challenging experience.

After returning from Japan, I decided to get my teaching credential and masters degree in teaching multiple subjects and special education. I am also certified to teach ELD and GATE students. I earned an administrative credential in 2016.

For the last twelve years, I have been teaching in the Dublin Unified School District. I have had experience teaching as a Resource Specialist, 4th and a 5th grade teacher. This is my ninth year at Frederiksen Elementary.

Some of my unique experiences: Skydiving, running full marathons and traveling through Asia (China, Japan, Indonesia and Philippines), Europe (Great Britain, France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy), Canada, Mexico and the USA.

Some of my likes: Learning new things; teaching; reading fiction and non-fiction; watching movies and documentaries; drinking coffee, tea; chocolate; cooking, trying and eating different types of food (Asian, European, African, etc.); distance running; hiking; traveling; volunteering, and spending time with my family.
