Lab Introduction

Non-invasive biomedical imaging can provide important and helpful information for medical diagnosis and therapy. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is one of the most useful biomedical imaging techniques. Our laboratory aims at developing new MR imaging techniques and improving the image quality of MRI. Especially, we focus our research fields on cardiovascular MRI and MR guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS).

Cardiovascular MRI provide the information of blood flow velocity and myocardium motion velocity with usage of phase-contrast imaging. The quantification of flow velocity or myocardium motion velocity can help clinical diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. As for MRgFUS, we estimate thermal effect and magnetization transfer effect during high-intensity focused ultrasound transmission. By using a special designed pulse sequence, we can real-time evaluate temperature change and tissue damage simultaneously during thermal treatments.
