The American Rocketry Challenge (TARC)

The American Rocketry Challenge (TARC) is a national rocketry competition for high school students. It is organized by the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) and the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA). The competition is held annually and brings together teams of students from across the country to design, build, and launch rockets. The goal of the competition is to inspire and engage students in STEM fields, and to provide them with a hands-on learning experience in rocketry and aerospace engineering. The winning team receives a cash prize and the opportunity to compete in the International Rocketry Challenge against teams from other countries

MRHS TARC teams are formed in the first couple months of the school year and get started quickly after. Being on a team is a manageable time commitment, which should only be considered if the student has approximately 3-4 hrs/week (after school+weekend builds/launches) to spare.
