🎯 Learning Objective
Students will design and program a VEX robot using VEXcode EXP to complete increasingly complex movement tasks—including square paths, diagonal navigation, figure-eight patterns, and sequential execution—demonstrating mastery of autonomous control, spatial awareness, and logical sequencing.
Logic: The ability to think clearly and make good sense of things by using reasoning, problem-solving, and pattern recognition skills

🦾🤖 Robot Programming Challenge Â
Use VEXcodeEXP to program your robot to complete these tasks:
Level I – Square DriveÂ
☑ Program Name: "Square"
☑ Disable Controller until autonomous robot behaviors are completed.
☑ Make your robot drive in a square around an object. (Chair, Arena, large area or small) Stay close to objects—but don’t touch them!
☑ Outputs: Display "Turning" on screen when turning
☑ Outputs: Play sound(s) to identify autonomous is complete!
☑ Enable Controller once autonomous robot behaviors are completed.
Level II – Angles & Spins
☑ Program Name: "Angles & Spins"
☑ Disable Controller until autonomous robot behaviors are completed.
☑ Try "Turn to Drive Heading" Programming Blocks
☑ First, drive straight. Then turn to a specific angle. Repeat.
☑ In an unobstructed space, spin in a full circle (360°), then...
☑ Reverse back to where you started.
☑ Outputs: Display "Turning ___ Degrees Left or Right" on screen when turning
☑ Outputs: Play sound(s) to identify autonomous is complete!
☑ Enable Controller once autonomous robot behaviors are completed.
Level III – Figure 8Â
☑ Program Name: "Figure_8"
☑ Disable Controller until autonomous robot behaviors are completed.
☑ Start in any corner. Drive in a figure-8 shape around cones.Â
☑ Use a variety of Point Turns and Pivot Turns!
☑ Use a variety of Forward and Reverse Commands
☑ Outputs: Display different messages on screen
☑ Outputs: Play sound(s) to identify various robot behaviors
☑ Enable Controller once autonomous robot behaviors are completed.
💥 POWER UP! – Combo ChallengeÂ
☑ Program Name: "ComboChallenge"
☑ Combine all three programs into one program that does all three robot behaviors.Â
☑ Add a short pause between each level. Use the remote to press a button before starting the next task.

SHOW: Mr. Hansen your progress - then answer the question for this assignment!
QUESTION: What Level did you complete and in what ways does your logic make sense?
A Point Turn (or Spin Turn) is a maneuver where a VEX robot spins in place around its own center by running the left and right sides of its drivetrain in opposite directions at equal power.
A Pivot Turn (or Swing Turn) on a VEX robot is executed by keeping one side of the drivetrain stationary (or running it at a different speed) while driving the opposite side forward or backward, causing the robot to rotate around a pivot point.
