Welcome to the MRES Spring Musical 2018 production of Lion King Jr!
On this site you will find our:
Performance dates, Cast List, Weekly Rehearsal Schedule, Music Resources, Acting Resources, Tech Crew, Swahili Pronunciation Guides, and any other resources actors and crew might need as we continue the show. This site will consistently be updated every other day to reflect current rehearsal progress.
We will have four performances.
April 3rd we will have an in school show at 10:30am and an evening show at 7:30pm.
WE WILL NEED PARENTS AND KIDDOS TO VOLUNTEER IN STRIKING THE SET:
This means we will take down the backdrop, the pride rock will go to a home, costumes returned,
lights and sound taken apart and returned to their location, Finally we need to reset Ms.Mazur's classroom.
Shoes for everyone: NO DRESS SHOES
Lady Actors (dance shoes, flats or sneakers- ie something comfortable to dance in)
Dude Actors (dance shoes or dark colored sneakers preferably- ie something comfortable to dance in)
Timon and Pumbaa have instructed me that are bringing in their own costumes.
Scar: black/brown/dark colored leggings, black/dark colored tank top, flats or sneakers.
Hyenas (this includes Ed, Bread, Shenzi and Banzai):
*If you have a leather jacket bring it!*
Lady Actors (grey/black/dark colored leggings or pants and tank top/rock star shirt)
Dude Actors (dark colored pants/jeans and dark colored t-shirt or a rock star t-shirt)
(by rockstar, it could be a t-shirt from a concert)
Lions (this includes Mufasa, Nala, Sarabi, Sarafina & Simba):
Lady Actors (brown, beige, yellow, or dark colored leggings or pants and brown, beige, or a yellow tank top or shirt)
Dude Actors (dark colored pants/jeans and brown, beige, yellow or dark colored t-shirt)
Giraffe: brown, yellow, beige or dark colored shirt and brown, yellow, beige, or dark colored leggings or pants
Rafiki: red, blue or black leggings or pants and a red, blue or black tank top or t-shirt
Zazu: dark colored pants and blue, grey or dark colored t-shirt
Meercats & Gazelle: brown, beige, yellow or dark colored leggings and brown, beige, yellow or dark colored tank top or t-shirt
Elephant: grey, black or dark colored pants and grey, black or dark colored t-shirt
Chimpanzee: brown, beige, yellow or dark colored shirt and dark colored pants
We might change some animals as we continue with costuming to have some more variety. Stay tuned for any changes.
We need these by next Thursday so we can begin rehearsing in costume. If you do not have any of these specific colors that's fine- something dark colored is the general alternative for pants/leggings, t-shirts and tank tops.

*Actors will need to be off book (all lines/songs memorized) by March 12th.
