Hello and welcome! My name is Walter Benedict and I am a School Counselor. I love my career and hopes to learn and grow with other educators around the world. Here is some quick info about me!
Walter Benedict is currently a Career and Technical Education High School Counselor in Central New York. Over the past 9 years as a school counselor Walter has worked across all grade levels PreK-12. Over his professional career Walter has produced several publications and professional presentations to local school districts as well as at the New York State School Counseling Association Annual Conference. Walter has a passion for growing his profession and takes an active role both in his immediate school and community, as well as in local and state roles. Most recently Walter was admitted into the inaugural cohort of the New York State Master Teacher Program’s recently expanded Master Counselor Program through the State University of New York. New York State Master Counselor Program - BRIDGES Professional Interest Group (Faciliator)
"1. Not only has this event impacted me as a STEM educator, but as a special education teacher as well. Many of the resources that I have gleaned from the participants in this group will be implemented into my Resource Room to ensure students are actively keeping up with their mental health.
2. It is exciting and energizing to be a part of this group! I am excited for more in person opportunities to bring the Master Counselors and Master Teachers together. We are looking at planning a "Wellness Fair" to support educator wellness."

Adult SEL Presentation - May 10, 2024 - Solvay UFSD Wellness Day 2024
"Walter,
I truly could listen to you talk and teach for an entire day. The passion you bring to the topic of SEL and just life in general is contagious and truly inspires me to be and do better. I am so happy you offered this session during our wellness day. Your presentation style was personable, professional and realistic to the needs of adults in the teaching profession.
I wish we had more time with you. I would love a follow up training during another staff day or even a workshop that is for an entire afternoon, not just an hour.
THANK YOU"
