My aspirations as a teacher are to encourage students to explore theories and understandings of our world and provide classroom activities that develop their interest in science and math. My career has allowed me to gain experiences in many aspects of science. I've been able to participate in the Education Department at NASA-JPL (in southern California). I'm eager to teach new discoveries in human physiology including applications to sports fitness. New information of our solar system from the Mars Rovers and the use of satellites / telescopes are interesting to me, especially how we can help students understand the fundamentals of different life forms. I'm focusing on Next Generation of Science Standards (NGSS) lab activities and how these are connected through Cross-Cutting Concepts (CCC's) between the sciences of biology, chemistry, and physics.
