My name is Gregory Romanczuk, but to my students I'm known as Mr. R. I am originally from Livonia, Michigan, having moved to South Carolina in July 2021. I graduated from Eastern Michigan University (Go Eagles #truEMU) with my Bachelor's in Secondary Education - History/Social Studies along with two Associates Degrees from Schoolcraft College. I left Michigan in order pursue my dreams of being the best teacher I can be & attending Clemson University for my Masters.

This is my fourth year teaching, where I am currently handle Civics and Modern World. So far at Berea, I have also taught U.S. History, Honors Civics, Personal Finance and Current Events; bringing me to teaching 9-11th grade! Before teaching, I worked the restaurant life from age 14 onwards, working as an Expo and eventual Kitchen Manager for a Chinese restaurant along with being a server, bartender, head trainer and manager at Red Robin. This year officially marks I have spent 50% of my life working in restaurants!

Beyond my traditional teacher role, I am very hands on in the building here at Berea. I am the School Sponsor for Student Council, the PA for Football and Baseball, co-Head Coach for Girls Flag Football, an Assistant Coach for Track & Field and the Founder of Video Game Club.

Outside of being passionate about social studies, I love sports and animals. I have been dubbed as the "Crazy Cat Guy" of Berea, as I have 3 cats (Blaine, Pearl and Preston) while my wife has two (Callie and Klaus); together we have a true cat house! In sports, I love the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons fans while rooting for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and being a Clemson season ticket holder. I'm probably the biggest video game collector in the building and I enjoy cooking and traveling whenever possible. 

In all, my goal is to help my students become the best versions of themselves while eliminating the stigma that Social Studies is boring. This next generation will run the world, I want to make sure they at least can make educated decisions.
