Professional Development Sessions

Come one, come all! Join a dynamic and engaging activity session where you will learn cooperative physical activities designed to maximize engagement and minimize verbal instruction. Presented activities will utilize easily accessible equipment and materials and are friendly to physical education programs that may operate on a tight budget. During this session, participants will also engage in small group discussions using Kagan structures as a form of reflection and formative assessment.  

Come one, come all! Let’s dive into a variety of student favorite physical education activities designed to maximize engagement in movement and minimize verbal instruction. Throughout this session, participants will engage in physical activities that engage the body and mind through cross-curricular content. Participants will also engage in small group discussions in the form of Kagan learning structures.  

This slide deck includes activities I shared during the elementary physical education TOY team presentation during part 1 of our session at the national SHAPE America convention in 2025. The Spikeball/SmashNet portion was pulled from a full hour long session I have available.
