About Me

My name is Matthew Hylton, I grew up in Brunswick County and I am on track to graduate Fall 2024 from Appalachian State University with a degree in History Education. I love movies (especially historical ones) and my cat, Leon, who I have raised for eleven years since he was a kitten. My favorite historical subject is East Asia but I have also been researching the causes of mass incarceration in the United States. I cannot wait to help my students learn how to become independent citizens who are ready to impact the world.
