Saint Marty's School participates in the National History Day (NHD) Program alongside public schools in Charles County. Students work to create a project on a topic of their choosing that fits in the theme put forth by the NHD. Students compete on the School Level, with some projects moving forward to County Level and possibly on to State and National Level. Students learn to develop research skills, thesis writing, critical thinking, and new levels of historical thinking. Students have the opportunity to present their projects in a variety of styles: the classical Historical Paper, the innovative Website, the captivating Documentary, the creative Exhibit, or the dramatic Performance.
