Welcome to Band! Learning an instrument helps students develop all types of intelligences. It can be such a rewarding experience to be part of an ensemble as well as watching individual growth as a musician.
Mr. Smolinski will be contacting you to go over this information and to find out if your child will be signing up for band. We understand that this is a big decision for you and your child, and we look forward to discussing this exciting possibility with you.
Brian Smolinski is entering his third year with the Instrumental Music Program of Baltimore. Prior to this appointment, he taught public school band across the state of Oklahoma where he handled all aspects of his programs from beginning band through high school. A 2011 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Mr. Smolinski studied instrumental music education with Dr. Michael Raiber and clarinet performance with Dr. David Etheridge. Mr. Smolinski grew up in Dallas, Texas but originates from Buffalo, New York and is a lifelong fan of the Bills, Sabres, and minor league baseball team the Bisons despite the horrific curse placed upon Buffalo sports. He is beyond excited to have rejoined his family on the East Coast and begin his new journey in education. Mr. Smolinski resides in Westminster with his two cats Sir Isaac Newton and George Washington Carver.
