Classroom Management

In our classroom, I strive to create a learning environment that is fun, safe, and productive. One of the central tenets of my classroom is that students are rewarded for displaying desired behaviors. The behavior management plan in my classroom is ClassDojo. ClassDojo is an online classroom management platform for teachers, parents, and students. ClassDojo helps teachers to encourage specific classroom student behaviors, through real-time teacher-to-student feedback through the web and mobile devices. The software automatically generates behavior reports that can be shared with parents and students. Behaviors tracked by the app include hard work, persistence, teamwork, creativity, and curiosity.

Students will earn Dojo "money" based on how many points they make on Dojo. The "money" they earn will be able to spend in the classroom store for tangible rewards or certificates. Some examples of the certificates areas include;

    • sit by a friend for a day pass
    • free assignment pass
    • lunch in the classroom
    • bring in a toy or book to share with the class
    • choose an extra special treasure from the prize box
    • extra computer time.

Classroom rules:

    1. We will come to school prepared to learn.
    2. We will respect others.
    3. We will keep our hands, feet, and objects to ourselves.
    4. We will not interfere in the learning of others.
    5. We will raise our hands and wait for permission to speak.

If you have any questions regarding these rules or my discipline policy, please contact me at school (617) 283-3460 or via e-mail seth.brady@atlanta.k12.ga.us
