Muhammad Qamar Raza
A bit about myself
I am research fellow at School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE), University of Queensland (UQ). I graduate with Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from School of ITEE, UQ and advised by Professor Mithulan Nadarajah. I was visiting research scholar to Power and Energy Systems Lab Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Baylor University Waco, Texas USA, advised by Professor. Kwang Y. Lee and Big Data Energy Analytics Laboratory (BigDEAL) University of North Carolina at Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
I am author and co-author of more than 30 research papers (List of Publication) in reputed journals and peer review conferences. I served as Lecturer in school of Electrical Engineering at The University of Faisalabad, Pakistan. I also won several research awards such as Gold Medal for most innovative research, Bronze medal and Institute of Engineers (IEM) Malaysia for best postgraduate research. I am also member of several professional bodies Engineers Australia, IEEE, IEP, PEC and IEM. I also served as reviewer for several reputed journals such as IEEE Transactions, Elsevier and peer review conferences.
Research Interests
Energy Forecasting (load demand, price, wind speed and solar output power)
Demand side management in smart grid and buildings.
Machine Learning, Artificial intelligence, neural network, fuzzy logic and inference system.
Swarm and population based optimization techniques i.e. particle swarm optimization, genetic algorithm, simulated annealing, gravitational search algorithm, ant colony optimization
Big data analytics and mining, Deep Learning techniques.
