If you want immersive audio with powerful bass and deep silence for your daily commute, choose MQES Active Noise Cancelling; if you need to bridge language barriers across 144 languages while traveling, choose Pomya Translator Earbuds.
• MQES Active Noise Cancelling: Delivers a robust 10mm driver for rich, audiophile-grade sound with 75% ambient noise reduction, but lacks translation features and uses older Bluetooth 5.2 tech. Best for music lovers and commuters seeking pure audio immersion.
• Pomya Translator Earbuds: Offers real-time interpretation in 144 languages with the latest Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, though it sacrifices some raw driver size and focuses on communication rather than high-fidelity bass. Best for travelers and business professionals needing instant cross-language support.
The MQES earbuds are engineered primarily for the listener who prioritizes sound quality and isolation above all else. At the heart of this device is a 10mm speaker driver, which is twice the size of standard drivers found in many competing true wireless stereo models. This hardware choice isn't just about volume; it allows the unit to produce a powerful bass response that feels grounded, alongside smooth midrange tones and bright, sharp treble. If you are someone who listens to complex genres like jazz, classical, or heavy rock, the frequency range of 20Hz to 20,000Hz ensures you aren't missing the nuances in the lower or higher registers. The dynamic driver type works in tandem with the 16-ohm impedance to deliver a balanced audio profile that doesn't sacrifice clarity for sheer power.
Beyond the music, the active noise cancellation (ANC) system is designed to carve out a quiet zone wherever you go. Each earbud houses two built-in microphones specifically tuned to detect external sounds and cancel them out. The data suggests an average elimination of 25 decibels of environmental noise, effectively reducing 75% of ambient sound and 45% of other background noises. This performance makes the MQ-01B particularly effective in loud environments where focus is required. Whether you are trying to read on a noisy subway, working in a bustling open office, or trying to sleep in a dorm room, the ANC technology significantly dampens the chaos between 100Hz and 1000Hz. You can also toggle into transparency mode when you need to hear announcements or have a quick conversation without removing the headphones, striking a balance between immersion and situational awareness.
For those with larger ear canals or who simply prefer a secure fit, the ergonomic design featuring rounded tips and three included sizes of rubber ear cushions (Small, Medium, Large) offers a tailored solution. The silicone material ensures a comfortable seal that aids in both passive noise isolation and stability during movement. With an IPX5 waterproof rating, these earbuds can withstand sweat and rain, making them a viable option for intense workouts or running in unpredictable weather. The battery life is another standout feature for long-haul listeners; you get eight hours of continuous playback on a single charge, and the compact charging case provides three full recharges, totaling up to 30 hours of endurance. While the Bluetooth 5.2 chip offers reliable connectivity up to 30 feet, the primary draw remains the combination of large diaphragm speakers and aggressive noise cancellation. This product fits the user who wants a dedicated music listening experience that blocks out the world.

The Pomya Translator Earbuds serve a completely different niche: they are utility tools for communication rather than just media consumption devices. The defining feature here is the ability to translate speech in real-time across 144 different languages. This capability transforms the earbuds from simple audio players into essential travel companions for anyone navigating foreign countries or attending international business meetings. The device supports online translation through three distinct modes that adapt to various conversational scenarios. In "Touch Mode," you wear one earbud each, allowing for a private, direct exchange between two people speaking different languages. "Speaker Mode" utilizes your phone as a shared speaker, which is useful for group discussions or presentations. Finally, "Freely Talking Mode" allows both users to wear two earbuds each, facilitating a more natural, face-to-face dialogue flow.
Connectivity is handled by the newer Bluetooth 5.4 standard, which provides a stable connection with a range of approximately 10 meters. This newer generation chip not only improves the speed of data transfer but also enhances encryption, which is crucial when handling sensitive conversations or personal data during translation tasks. The touch controls are intuitive, utilizing fingerprint sensors on the earbuds to manage calls, music, and translation functions without needing to fumble with a smartphone screen. While the battery life matches the competitor at 30 hours total with the charging case, the individual earbuds offer 5 to 6 hours of playback per charge, which is sufficient for most day trips or long flights.
The physical design includes a sleek black finish and a portable charging case that measures roughly 3.54 inches on each side, making it easy to slip into a jacket pocket or bag. Although the specific driver size is not highlighted as aggressively as the MQES model, the HD sound quality is optimized for voice clarity, ensuring that translated speech is crisp and understandable. The inclusion of active noise cancellation further aids this goal by blocking out background chatter in cafes, airports, or train stations, allowing the microphone to pick up voices clearly for accurate translation. These earbuds are ideal for the global citizen, the frequent flyer, or the professional who needs to communicate seamlessly without relying on a smartphone app interface constantly. They are less about the depth of the bass and more about the precision of the interaction.
• Best for Sound Quality & Bass: MQES Active Noise Cancelling wins with its 10mm dynamic drivers and wider frequency range tuning.
• Best for Communication: Pomya Translator Earbuds are the clear winner for anyone needing to speak multiple languages instantly.
• Best Battery Life Per Charge: Both offer a solid 30-hour total, but MQES provides slightly longer single-charge duration at 8 hours versus 5-6 hours for Pomya.
• Best Connectivity Tech: Pomya edges ahead with Bluetooth 5.4, offering faster pairing and better security compared to MQES's Bluetooth 5.2.
• Best for Water Resistance: Both meet high standards, but MQES explicitly lists IPX5 waterproofing for sweat and rain protection.
• Best for Big Ears Fit: MQES includes three specific sizes of rubber ear tips to ensure a custom seal, which is often critical for users with larger ear canals looking for the best earbuds for big ears.
• Best Value for Travelers: Pomya is the superior investment for international trips due to the 144-language translation suite.
• Best for Audiophiles: MQES is designed for those who want to lose themselves in high-fidelity music rather than manage conversations.
I would buy the MQES Active Noise Cancelling for my own daily use because I prioritize music immersion and noise isolation over translation capabilities. The 10mm driver delivers a richness in sound that the Pomya units likely cannot match, and the 8-hour single charge means I rarely worry about battery anxiety during a workday. However, if I were packing a bag for a trip to Japan or Germany, I would immediately switch to the Pomya Translator Earbuds to navigate language barriers effortlessly. For buyers with big ears who struggle with generic fits, the MQES option stands out as the safer bet because of the explicit inclusion of multiple ear tip sizes to ensure a proper seal. Ultimately, if your primary goal is to hear the world clearly or escape it entirely, MQES is the tool; if your goal is to be understood by the world, Pomya is the answer.
The MQES Active Noise Cancelling model comes with S, M, and L pairs of rubber ear tips, which helps users with larger ears find a secure and comfortable fit, making it a strong contender for those seeking the best hifi stereo ear clip headphones for big ears.
Yes, the Pomya Translator Earbuds require an internet connection to access the 144-language database and perform real-time translation, whereas the MQES earbuds function fully offline for music and noise cancellation.
Both models feature Active Noise Cancellation, but the MQES unit specifies a 25-decibel reduction and targets specific frequency ranges for music listening, while the Pomya ANC is optimized to block environmental noise for clearer voice pickup during translation.
The MQES earbuds carry an IPX5 waterproof rating, making them suitable for sweat and rain during workouts, while the Pomya earbuds focus more on travel and business, though their Bluetooth stability also supports active use.
