The Long-Range Facilities Master Plan (LRFMP) is a 10-year plan for Milwaukee Public Schools buildings.
The goal of the LRFMP is to support student success by making sure that the district’s learning spaces meet student needs.
The LRFMP directly supports the MPS 2023-2028 Strategic Plan.
MPS hired Perkins Eastman, a firm with 40+ years of experience working with K-12 schools, to develop the LRFMP. The project team also includes local firms American Design, Prism Technical, and Rivera & Associates.
To create the LRFMP, the project team will…
Research the people, places, and programs that make up the MPS community.
Engage with the MPS community throughout a multi-step process that supports the district's vision for success:
Identify how MPS school buildings can best support programs and academic vision
Compare current MPS school building conditions against this vision
Develop school- and district-level recommendations that will sustainably support MPS
Create a final plan and present strategy recommendations to the MPS leadership team and Milwaukee Board of School Directors.
You, the MPS community, will help guide the LRFMP.
