PhD Research
Topic: Multi-Hazard Engineering (School of Interdisciplinary Studies, IIT Madras)
Advisors: Dr Prakash S Badal (Guide) & Dr Rakhi Singh (Co-Guide)
1. Cyclonic Disturbances & Hydrometeorological Scenarios in the Mahanadi River Basin
MSc Project (NIT Rourkela)
Advisors: Prof Jagabandhu Panda
Analyzed flood susceptibility (1961-2023) using high-resolution meteorological and hydrological data.
Developed the Topographic Flood Susceptibility Index (ToFSI) and Total Flood Susceptibility Index (TFSI).
Key Finding: Identified a significant decline in cyclone frequency but heightened vulnerability in southeastern areas due to interacting hydro-meteorological factors.
2. Mathematical Modelling & Graph Theory on Bi-Variable Prey Predator Model
BSc Project (Presidency University)
Advisors: Dr Subhas Khajanchi and Prof Avisekh Adhikari
Modeled a three-species closed ecosystem (grass, grasshoppers, birds) using nonlinear differential equations.
Analyzed stability using Jacobian matrices and eigenvalues to identify feasible ecological states.
3. Theoretical Understanding and Numerical Simulation of Tropical Waves
Academies of Sciences Summer Research Internship
Advisors: Dr Vinu K Valsala (IITM, Pune)
Simulated Kelvin and Rossby waves using a reduced gravity ocean model.
Analyzed theory behind it.
4. Observed Warming over the Indian Ocean in Recent Decades
Winter Internship
Advisors: Dr Sandeep K K (IIT Bhubaneswar)
4. Saudi Arabia Climate Simulations of the last 1000 years
Winter Internship
Advisors: Dr Tejavath Charan Teja (NCESS, Thiruvanantpuram)
