What is Bridging Program?
Bridging Program in Maritime education is a mandatory enrollment & completion of maritime cadets to be taken before the opening of regular classes. This is being enroll by those students enroll in BSMT & BSMARE but their Senior High School (SHS) track/strand are NOT aligned in maritime progress aligned programs are: (Pre- Baccalaureate maritime, TVL-Maritime) other than this, 1st year maritime students SHOULD enroll & complete the BRIDGING PROGRAM (40 hours).
What office handling in monitoring the BRIDGING PROGRAM?
Office of the Dean (look/coordinate BSMT/ BSMarE Program Chairs)
Office of the Academics (look/coordinate to VP for Academics or its equivalent located at the ground floor main building.
What is English + and Math +?
ENGLISH + / MATH + are the courses to be enroll by any freshmen enrolled for a particular school year, when the result of their entrance examination FAILED in English or Math area.

Is there any age limit/height requirements in Maritime Programs?
Age limit: should not be more than 24 years old during the Completion of the Program.
However, if there will be backer or someone to help/assist for Shipboard Training (SBT) After completing the program- no age requirement
Height limit: should not be less than 5.0 “in height
If you failed either in Ishihara, Audiometry, and Hepa B Laboratory Test results, Can you still enroll in maritime programs?
Maritime Programs Strictly follows STCW’ 78 As Amended requirements, any enrollee/s who failed in Ishihara/ Audiometry or in Hepa B cannot enroll in Maritime Programs, BUT can enroll in other business programs offered by the school (like BS Hospitality & BS Tourism) by the school and still can work in sea going vessels like Cruise Lines & other related sea-base employment.

Is transferee/s from other school, can enroll in Mariners' Legazpi?
Yes, transferee from other Schools can enroll.
Is transferee/s are required to take Mariners' College Admission Test (MCAT)
YES, Transferees will take Entrance Exam if he/she is not a graduate of any baccalaureate program.
NO, If the transferee/s is a Graduate of any baccalaureate program.
Is transferee/s still required to submit Medical Requirements?
YES, it is a must to submit medical requirements
TESDA/Tech Voc student or graduate can enroll in maritime or other programs?
YES, can enroll however TESDA courses are not credited.
Transferee/s from other school, are the subjects can be credited?
Transferee from other school, Transcript of Records or Certification of Grades will be subject for evaluation. The school shall follow CAED policy on subject/course crediting (same course description, same units for (lecture & laboratory)

Submit clear photocopies of documents (Transcript, Diploma, Special Order, etc). Submit to the Office of the Registrar.
Any payment: 3 sets complete of TOR- Php 120/set, Diploma, Special Order, Good Moral Character.
Lost of credentials issued to me? Any requirements and what is the process?
Submit Affidavit of Loss
Submit Letter that you are applying for another copy of credentials, indicate the purpose, with your complete name, full signature, contact numbers, attached valid I.D (Photocopy)

Submit Php 120.00 for CAV to be paid to CHED RO V.
Get the contact number of the Registrar or Course in Charge for Follow-up.
I Want to Get Certification of Grades, Certification as Graduates, Certificate of Good Moral Character, Certificate as a Student in a-Particular Academic Year or Any Valid Certification as a Student or Graduate?
Report onsite to the Office of the Registrar
Submit Letter request reason applying/securing the certification
Office of the Registrar will issue Advise to pay or Clearance (as appropriate)
Payment to the OFA
Student/Graduate can wait same day for the release of the request.

What are the steps in applying for school credentials?
Report to the Office of the Registrar 2nd floor, main building located at near Office of the Financial Affairs (OFA)
Look for your Course in Charge: All queries should be course through Mariners Legazpi Registrar Fb Page
How many days to release the credentials requested?
1 or 2 days after submission of clearance & payment of credentials
How to apply student credentials?
Report in person to the Registrar Office, look for the College Registrar or Course In Charge.
Submit the requirement (letter request & picture valid ID)
Process the required clearance.
Proceed to OFA for payment of fees.
Picture your O.R. for reference. Submit the clearance & O.R. to the Registrar or Course-in-Charge concern.
Registrar personnel will schedule when to release the credentials (1 or 2 days after clearance/payment)
I am a parent or nearest relative of the student, can I apply & process the credentials of my daughter/son or relative? what are the requirements and steps?
Letter applying for the release of credentials signed by the student (attached valid ID of the student, recent photo for TOR scanning)
Special Power of Atty (SPA)
Signed by the student & indicating one who is authorize to process the release of credentials attached the valid I.D. of the person being authorized.
Process required Clearance & payment to OFA (located near Registrar Office)

Transfer of Credentials
I Want to transfer from Mariners Legazpi to another College. What are the requirements and steps?
Submit Letter of Request for Issuance of Transfer Credentials address to the College Registrar.
Indicate in the Letter what school/college you are transferring.
Reason for the transfer
Indicate complete Name, Course, Year Level, Contact Numbers (CP #, Messenger)
Attached recent photo for TOR Scanning
School I.D to Surrender or please photocopies of School I.D & valid I.D
Payment to OFA, Picture the O.R
Submit to the Registrar or Course in Charge. Get the contact number for follow up.
Releasing of Transfer Credentials 1 day to 2 day or can be release on the day of application if residing in distant place.
ON-BOARD TRAINING
Is the school offers assistance during the Shipboard Training of Cadets?
Yes, the school offers onboard training (OBT) assistance during the deployment of cadets. The school has MOA both domestic/local and International shipping companies.
What particular office handles OBT?
The Onboard Training Supervisors/Coordinator responsible to handle OBT from deployment to monitoring.
