Along with the new releases, the Mozilla Foundation today announced the launch of the Spreadfirefox.com web site, which will be the hub for the Firefox marketing effort, starting with a push to achieve one million downloads of the Firefox Preview Release over the next 10 days. The Foundation also announced the first awards in its new Security Bug Bounty Program, which has already resulted in a number of security improvements to Mozilla software.

In kubuntu ,the default programs associated with mime types in mozilla products are completely different from the system-wide setting or user setting. For example, firefox/thunderbird will always use krita to open pdf, but for all other programs such as dolphin will open it correctly via okular

Here's the thing. Firefox doesn't store any user data in itself. What it does instead is create what's known as a "user profile" -- a directory in your home directory -- and store all your data in there. And by data I mean everything -- add-ons, themes, browsing history, stored passwords, and on and on. (The actual location of your profiles in the filesystem varies by OS; on Ubuntu and other Linuxes, it's generally in .mozilla/firefox in your home directory.) Data in the user profile is completely separate from the Firefox application itself, so removing Firefox via apt-get or the like won't delete the profile data; when you reinstall Firefox later, it'll just look up your profile and reload it all, which can be frustrating if you don't realize what's going on.

Also remember to update or dist-update (this last one is my favorite), after you removed firefox or any other software. Some users recommend doing a simple update before removing or installing programs.

can I install the stuff on my nextcloud folder and run it from there on my windows clients?

I know about bookmarks and various backup tools but that way wold be super conveniant. open firefox on any device with all the same tabs, same bookmarks, similar to thunderbird, no messing arround with the settings, when switching os etc.
