The Mozilla project was founded in San Francisco in 1998, when the Netscape browser made the radical decision to give away its program code to the public to build on and improve. At that time, one company had a virtual monopoly on how people experienced the internet.

Today, Mozilla continues its movement toward a better internet with millions of active community members spanning the globe, advocating for ethical tech, trustworthy AI and producing privacy-first products that give more power to the people.

ECH is the most recent step in our mission to build a better internet, one where privacy is the industry standard. Mozilla has been developing this new internet privacy technology for nearly a half-decade in collaboration with other browsers, infrastructure providers, academic researchers, and standards bodies like the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).

On January 28, 2013, Mozilla was recognized as the most trusted internet company for privacy in 2012.[129] This study was performed by the Ponemon Institute and was a result of a survey from more than 100,000 consumers in the United States.

Shortly afterwards, the Mozilla Foundation invited Garrity to head up the new visual identity team. The release of Firefox 0.8 in February 2004 saw the introduction of the new branding efforts. Included were new icon designs by silverorange, a group of web developers with a long-standing relationship with Mozilla. The final renderings are by Jon Hicks, who had worked on Camino.[276][277] The logo was later revised and updated, fixing several flaws found when it was enlarged.[278] The animal shown in the logo is a stylized fox, although "firefox" is usually a common name for the red panda. The panda, according to Hicks, "didn't really conjure up the right imagery" and was not widely known.[277]

It's freezing over any and everything. For a while every time the browser froze I had to restart my entire system. Cleaned out old stuff, cookies, cache, still happening. Won't even go to website unless I search for the website. It's insanely slow despite fast internet and 3.7 + over 12G of RAM to spare.

Been using firefox for so long I can't remember. I was an original Netscape user even when Explorer came out.But as of the last few updates. It freezes all the time. I have to get out task manager to close it. And its sucking up soooo much memory. I've taken to using Edge and Opera. What ever you did you **bleep**ed the former best browser. Fix it!!

After the update on 9 June, the firefox cannot display the information of my website properly anymore. It goes blank. Poor :'( Asked my whole team of developers, no one can do the debug. Other browsers work well on displaying those info. That's what I don't understand...

You know, usually it's me that has a certain problems while everyone else hasn't but now it's the opposite, I'm not having this random Firefox freezes, perhaps you can report it on BugZilla, if this issue goes on something is damaging Firefox seriously. Try searching firefox screen freeze problem and see the results, they look interesting.

I have issues on yahoo news comments. If i try to open those comments to view (click "view comments") it just cycles doing nothing, and if i load up task manager i see memory use sky-rocket to 20gigabytes out of 32 total being used on firefox processes. It builds up quickly. The function of the browsers is inhibited before it reaches these peaks. At that point clicking the "close" button will take several minutes to respond, as well as anything else. Quickest way is to load taskmanager and end task. this will clear the ram immediately and stop whatever it is that is in an endless loop. This can hapen on yahoo when scrolling down or just randomly, too.. but without fail, if i click to reveal comments it just loads forever in that section of web page and bogs down computer signficantly. Can hear my cooling fans ramp up.

Clearing the cache and cookies from a web browser is an important first-step for almost any troubleshooting for internet browsing. The 'cache' is a tool used by your internet browser to speed up the page loading process. However, sometimes it can cause a problem when websites are updated and developed as files saved in the cache may conflict with what's actually coded into the website. Clearing cache and cookies is a way we can be sure that any issues you may come across are actually something wrong with the website, rather than inconsistencies caused by using different browsers.

Firefox is mainly used for browsing the internet like its other modern browser competitors, Chrome and Safari. However, its open source nature enables additional uses that Chrome and Safari do not offer, including the ability for developers to modify the browser, redistribute their own versions and add source code to a code repository that the Mozilla Foundation uses to officially update the browser.

Specifically, Mozilla plans to scale back its investment in a number of products, including its VPN, Relay and its Online Footprint Scrubber. Mozilla will also shut down Hubs, the 3D virtual world it launched back in 2018, and scale back its investment in its mozilla.social Mastodon instance. The layoffs will affect roughly 60 employees. Bloomberg previously reported the layoffs.

In 2023, generative AI began rapidly shifting the industry landscape. Mozilla seized an opportunity to bring trustworthy AI into Firefox, largely driven by the Fakespot acquisition and the product integration work that followed. Additionally, finding great content is still a critical use case for the internet. Therefore, as part of the changes today, we will be bringing together Pocket, Content, and the AI/ML teams supporting content with the Firefox Organization. More details on the specific organizational changes will follow shortly. Within MozProd, there are no changes within MDN, Ads, or Fakespot. There are also no changes to Legal/Policy, Finance & Business Operations, Marketing, or Strategy & Operations.

Together we gave Big Data the middle finger, and we just got started. Fridays for Future started with one human being standing (well, sitting) her ground. We started with 46, initiating a positive movement that is set to become the Fridays for Future for our internet.

Can any please help me in finding all the file extensions that are natively displayed inside the firefox and IE browsers? For example, image extensions like .png, ..gif are natively displayed inside the browser. Any kind of help will be appreciated. 0852c4b9a8
