Not all goals are equal. Start by creating an achievable goal, or breaking large goals into smaller ones.
There are 6 things that make a goal achievable.
1) The goal must be personal, something that is for and about yourself. We cannot control what other people do.
2) It needs to be achievable, as in something you are able to make happen. If it is a really large or long term goal, break it up into smaller goals, or steps towards the goal.
3) Your goal needs to be important to you. What will happen if you don't achieve this goal? How meaningful would it be if you did?
4) State your goal in the positive. Be clear about what you WANT instead of what you don't want.
5) Be specific! State very clearly the exact thing that you want. If it's money, how much? If it's lower weight, how much do you want to weigh? If it's to stop smoking, how many days equals success? Be very clear with what you want.
6) Create a timeline, how long will it take? When do you want it to happen? What steps are you taking and when?
And the most important thing you need to achieve a goal, is the meaning behind it. Achieving your goal needs to have enough gain to your subconscious mind that even if it takes work, your mind is working with you to achieve it. The subconscious mind does whatever it needs to to keep us safe, and comfortable.
