Hypnosis, hypnotherapy, or hypnotic suggestion is a trance like state in which you have heightened focus and concentration. It is often done with the help of a professional using verbal repetition and mental images. When you are under hypnosis you will feel calm, relaxed, and more open to suggestions. 15 minutes in hypnosis is worth approximately 4 hours of deep sleep. Most people wake up feeling rested, and refreshed.
Short answer is yes! Hypnotherapy has the potential to help any individual if they are willing to focus, and listen to the hypnotherapist. While hypnotherapy has benefits for any individual, stage hypnosis doesn't always work on everyone. Stage hypnosis is a lot more pressure, and some people are more easily distracted, or anxious in front of an audience. There could be a number of reasons why someone isn't able to relax or focus enough for stage hypnosis. During a stage hypnosis show there is usually some simple exercises that everyone can do to find out if they are a good candidate to volunteer to go up on stage.

During a free consultation I will determine how many sessions I recommend to reach your goal. Some things require less time, while other things need more sessions. Depending on what you are working on I might recommend anywhere between three and ten sessions.
You cannot get stuck in hypnosis the same way you cannot get stuck in sleep, or in a state of being awake. Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation between awake and sleeping. If you get left in hypnosis you would either fall asleep, and wake up after a short nap, or simply wake up once you realize you have been left alone for a while.
During a session you will find a comfortable place to sit or lay down, where you will not be disturbed. Then the hypnotherapist will talk you through the process of getting into a state of hypnosis. It is very similar to a guided meditation. While in hypnosis you are still fully in control and able talk or move around to become more comfortable at any time.
Hypnosis gives you direct access to your subconscious mind where all of your habits, memories, and automatic responses live. This means you can create new positive habits, and identify as well as process past traumas.
As individuals we are always learning and growing. While hypnosis is powerful it is up to each person to continue working on themselves, and remember the lessons they have already learned. Most results can last a lifetime, although we are human and sometimes choose to go back to our old ways, or make the same mistakes. Hypnosis is not magic, and it is up to you to continue learning and growing as a person.
Hypnosis has zero negative side effects. The only thing is will cost you is money, time, and commitment.
No, a person is still fully in control while in hypnosis, and can choose to accept or reject suggestions.
Hypnotherapists like to joke that insurance doesn't usually cover things that actually work. Since hypnotherapy is not currently regulated in Canada it is possible your insurance might cover it under 'alternative medicine/therapy' it is up to you to find out.
Hypnosis requires you to listen to the sound of my voice, and for me to be able to see your face to gauge your reactions which means a zoom call is just as effective as working in person.
No, a person is fully capable of lying, or saying and doing anything they want to while in a state of hypnosis. Hypnosis is simply giving a person a suggestion, that they are able to choose to accept or not.
NLP or neuro linguistic programming is a knowledge, or tool that compliments hypnotherapy. They are not the same thing.
