I have struggled with depression since a very young age, around seven or eight. Growing up I experienced a lot of bullying at school, and at home. A lot of these experiences created beliefs in my subconscious mind. Beliefs like I am unloved, unworthy, unsafe, and alone. For many years I struggled to see what my life was worth. When I was 21 years old, I got a wake up call. I attended a leadership and personal development seminar called Klemmer. I remember a moment in the seminar when I realized that I was lucky to be alive. That I made it this far and I might as well choose to live life to the fullest.
I realized I had been coasting. Not making decisions for my self, and instead letting things and people push me around. Two weeks later I hopped on a plane by myself to Sanfrancisco. This decision changed the course of my life. It led me to be able to walk away from my 6 year long toxic relationship. It led me to believe I could dig deeper, and I was worthy of an amazing relationship.
However, I continued to struggle with depression, two parts inside of myself fighting to stay afloat. Part of me hating myself, my body, experiencing panic attacks, and wishing I was someone else. The other part of me had huge hopes, dreams, goals, and knew how strong and powerful I was.
This is where hypnotherapy came into my life. When I used hypnotherapy to get rid of my anxiety, the depression went with it. I was able to look inward with a new understanding of how my brain worked, how my childhood created negative belief systems inside my subconscious. Using hypnotherapy I learned the root cause of most of my problems and beliefs, and I was able to let them go. Or most of them anyway. Our self healing work never really ends, I still have so many things to unpack and heal. But using hypnotherapy has helped me identify, and let go of negative beliefs as they surface in my life.
