However, as described below, some anonymous interaction data is stored to enable core features of the app.
To enable movie matching and party-based interactions, MovieMatch stores limited, non-personal data:
A randomly generated anonymous user ID
Liked, disliked, or watched movies
Party sessions created or joined
Movie matches within a party
Time and type of interactions (e.g., swipes)
This information is used solely to provide app functionality and is not linked to your real-world identity.
We do not store or infer your name, contact info, or location.
Some features (such as unlimited swipes or early access to new features) require a subscription.
All payments are handled securely via Apple's In-App Purchase system.
We do not access, store, or process your billing or payment details.
You can manage or cancel your subscription via your Apple ID account settings.
We use third-party services to help us understand how MovieMatch is used:
Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) — to monitor app performance and usage trends
Adjust (Adjust GmbH) — for campaign attribution and install tracking
These services collect aggregated and anonymized data such as app opens, feature usage, crashes, and session durations.
They do not collect any data that identifies you personally.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or interaction data with any third parties.
The limited anonymized data we collect is only used internally or processed by trusted third-party service providers under strict data protection agreements.
MovieMatch is intended for users aged 12 and older.
Users under 18 should use the app with adult supervision.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
We use encryption and industry-standard security practices to protect all data stored or transmitted.
Swipe actions and party data are stored on secure servers and never made public.
MovieMatch does not allow uploading of user-generated media such as photos or videos.
All film information is sourced from third-party databases or public APIs, and is used solely for recommendation purposes.
