I already found a similar question here but that was asked almost 2 years ago. Currently, I am working on a video streaming app for Android and I was thinking if using Firebase to host the videos is a viable option.

Firebase Storage does not place restrictions on the type of files you can upload to it. So you can upload video files with no problem. However, if you are expecting to be able to stream the video out in different formats for different types of clients, you might be disappointed. You should think of Firebase Storage mostly as a general file storage solution, not a video streaming solution.

I am streaming a 1024 floatarray. One float are 4 bytes. So I got a incoming stream with 4096 bytes per frame. I am getting the floats out of this bytes and I know this floats are the ones I sent, so that part should work.

Edit 4 I should add, that I can play mic inputs from another android app where I send that input directly as bytes (I would exclude the float casting stuff and put the bytes I receive directly to audioTrack in my player code).

Also it occured to me, that it could be a problem, that the said floatarray that is streamed by the C Server comes from a 64bit machine while the phone is 32bit. Could that be a problem somehow, even though I am just streaming floats as 4 bytes?Or, another thought of mine: The underlying number format of the bytes I receive is float. What format does AudioTrack expect? Even if put in just bytes - would I need to cast that float to a int and cast that back to bytes or something?

I want to develop an Android App with a livestreaming embeded, but I just don't know how to start.I tried using an Webview with the livestreaming tag embeded, but it didn't work (most likely the stream is provided via Flash).I also tried to use a VideoView component but it also didn't work.

Not all can just yet. Currently, direct Android streaming using Bluetooth Low Energy technology is available for Google Pixel 3, running on operating system Android 10 and using Bluetooth version 5.0. More Android devices will be added in time. You can check if your phone or device is ready for Bluetooth Low Energy streaming to your hearing aids on our Android compatibility page.

I want to stream my audio output over the network (Wi-Fi) to my Android devices. I'm not looking for a music/video streaming solution, but I would stream any audio output of my GNU/Linux desktop to my Android work like a bluetooth headphone.

P.S. You can also check this Wiki page for general information on Pulseaudio network streaming, and this Wiki page about RTP streaming. Don't expect too much from streaming raw audio over WiFi; it takes enormous gobs of bandwidth. Even with a high-end wireless router/AP with a powerful signal I haven't been able to get more than stuttering audio out of it. Your best bet is probably to setup a proper media server (like Rygel, which works well with Pulseaudio) to transcode the raw audio to something like MP3 and stream that instead.

To send audio via a network connection from Android to Ubuntu you always need a renderer on your Ubuntu desktop and a streaming application on the android device. Android does not use pulseaudio as a sound server. We therefore depend on an additional app to send audio to the desktop.

Hi all. I hope someone can assist with a strange issue. I recently started seeing an issue with streaming video (mostly mp4 format) from the dropbox app on Android. When streaming video, after pressing play to start the video, I can't access the progress bar of the video so I can skip ahead or go back in the video, or see how much time is left in the video. Tapping my screen does not cause the bar to appear. I also noticed that tapping my screen does not cause the pause button to appear. I've tried dragging my finger up from the bottom of the screen to see if I could get the progress bar to appear, but it only causes the comment field to appear. It seems as if the video controls are unaccessible once video starts streaming. Please note, if I set the video to offline, I don't have this problem. I assume I don't have the problem when viewing offline video because I'm using an available media player on my local device to play the video, not relying on dropbox to stream it at that point. This seems like a recent issue. I've streamed plenty of video from my Dropbox app in the past on this same phone without issues before. Has anyone seen this? Just so everyone knows, I've force closed the app multiple times, cleared cache, restarted my phone, and have tried multiple videos, long and short, located in different folders. I'm on app version 158.2.2. I'm running android 9 (not rooted) on a OnePlus 5.

I just bought the Sony CRE-E10 and I really like the sound quality, but then I discovered that it only connects via Bluetooth to Apple devices. I use Android phone and Windows PC. Does anyone know if it is possible to make the Sony CRE-E10 connect to these non-apple devices for streaming audio?

I rencently purchased a Xiaomi pad 5 pro wifi tablet (Android 12 and MIUI 13.1.4) and installed IgniteTV on it. When it starts, it goes to the main screen and then I choose a channel from the guide and get this error "We've got a location issue. Unfortunately, we can't play this video within this country.". If I try with Edge or Chrome browsers for android and go to , I get this message " This Video Cannot Be Played. We've run into a problem while streaming XXXXXXXXXXX. (Error player.-9002.14002). The Google Play Store is set to Canada in the settings and all settings for location are turned on. I tried clearing Cache in the browsers and also in the Google Play Store app and still no luck. I uninstalled the IgniteTV app several times and still get the same. Something I noticed, after a fresh install of the app, sometimes I will get a channel that will start to play but as soon as I switch to another one, I start getting the same error message again. I even tried a factory reset of my tablet and still no luck. Almost forgot, all this is happening in my own home on my own wifi network.

Kagan estimates the combined global installed base for smart TVs and streaming media devices, or SMDs, grew 7.5% year over year as of the end of 2022, but the market has slowed considerably since the pandemic began. Particularly, the net additions to the SMD installed base in 2022 were less than half that of 2020.

Vizio's SmartCast was the second-fastest growing streaming OS in the US in 2022. Its strong position at brick-and-mortar retailers helped insulate it from increased competition from the likes of Amazon and Roku in their price range.

The data points in this analysis are Kagan estimates based on research into the smart TV and streaming media device, or SMD, markets, which we track on a quarterly basis with proprietary market share models that incorporate company-reported data, estimates based on business line revenues and other market research. Streaming-capable soundbars, smart displays, game consoles and other hardware with an ancillary video streaming feature are not included in this analysis.

Hello to the Denon Team, I ask you some information it would be possible to implement an options on the mixer for the selection of the output channel in order to manage the default recording perifica on android. I often connect my smartphone to do live streaming on platforms like TIKTOK that do not use apps on a pc and therefore I am forced to connect an additional usb sound card with a recording channel just to make it work. A real shame not being able to connect the mixer since being multichannel android by default it uses CH1 to acquire the audio while the mixer with the latest updates alone the Broadcast mode selection. I believe that for the developer to sign the operation is very simple and would be very useful on all prime devices given the spread. This could be another good reason not to choose competitors!Greetings DJ Antonio
