Trios Format
Trios will consist of two stages; group play and the knock-out round
This is similar to the format used in the FIFA World Cup
This year the roster is expanded to 60 players.
There will be a total 39 matches
(30 in group play and 9 in the knock-out round)
Each team will be guaranteed 3 matches
Group Play
5 Groups (A, B, C, D, E)
Each Group has 4 teams (Ranked from 1 to 4)
Rankings of teams will be set at the beginning and remain the same though group play (ranking used to determine who goes first etc.)
All teams within a group will play each other (Total 6 Matches)
For all groups there will be a total of 30 matches
All matches will be regular 3 round matches
No sudden death in effect. Matches can end in a tie.
Group Play (Points)
Points will be awarded based on the following:
Knock Out – 4 Points
Technical Knock-Out – 3 Points
Regulation Win – 2 Points
Tie – 1 Point each
Loss – 0 Points
Advancing to Knock-Out Round
The winners in each group will automatically advance to the quarter finals
The top ranked runner up will automatically advance to the quarter finals
Ranking is determined by the number of points scored during group play
The remaining runners up will play in a wild card match, and the winners of those matches will then advance to the quarter finals
In case of a tie at the end of group play, the following stats will be considered

Total Match Points Scored
Head-to-head record
Coin Toss
Knock-Out Round Format
Sudden death rules in effect for all Knock Out matches
Total of 9 matches (2 Wild Card, 4 Quarter Finals, 2 Semi Finals, 1 Final)
Unlike the world cup we will not have a play off for third place
Wild Card, Quarter and Semi Finals will be regular three round matches
Final match will be 5 rounds (Championship Rules)
Substitutions
If for any reason a player has to be replaced on a team, that new player will be selected by the Multiplex leadership group
Teams cannot chose their own substitute
