Predictive Safety Evaluation of Arterial and Freeway Systems, Omaha, Nebraska (Role: Key Researcher/technical lead; 2015-16, NDOR)
Phase I: Led technical task and evaluated safety performance of ~77 miles of freeway systems covering I-80, US‑275, I-480, I-680, US-75, 5 system interchanges, 108 ramp terminals and ~242 miles of major arterial system with 128 intersections surrounding Omaha metropolitan area. Wrote final technical report on safety evaluation, prepared technical presentation for client. Published and presented in 976th TRB Annual Meeting.
Phase II: Developed relevant safety strategies and countermeasures based on detailed five-year historical crash database (using Tableau) and safety performance of alternative design configurations from locations of interest (identified in Phase I) using ISATe and NCHRP 17-38. Wrote final technical report on safety evaluation, prepared technical presentation for client. Published and presented in 96th TRB Annual Meeting.
