If your mouse is wired, a cord (a few feet long) comes out the front with a connector at the end. Wireless mice communicate using RF (radio frequency) technology and Bluetooth. They all send their signals to a dongle, a small, included device inserted in a USB port on the computer.

To connect a wireless USB mouse to a computer, you must have the USB receiver that comes with it. Without the receiver, there is no way to connect the wireless USB mouse to a computer. Furthermore, you can't use an old receiver with a new device as their frequencies differ.

If the Bluetooth utility does not detect the Bluetooth mouse, check the bottom of the mouse or inside the battery compartment for a small button. If found, press the button, as the computer may require the mouse to be discoverable. If no button is found and the mouse comes with a software installation disc, install the mouse software on the computer. After installing, check the Bluetooth utility to see if it detects the Bluetooth mouse.

I saw that while keyboard input seemed, blocked, I was still able to communicate between PC and keyboard adjusting volume and opening calculator, for example. Moving forward, I tried uninstalling the devices multiple times and reinstalling them (after system restart), I tried modifying the registry, I tried running several different scans... ZERO luck. Then I thought, "Maybe disable Kaspersky?" Still nothing. I uninstalled, restarted, nothing. Windows troubleshoot was unable to fix my "driver error".

Solution: Hold the shift key and restart the PC. Select a restore point from before installing Kaspersky. Wait about 10 minutes (will vary by system).

P.S. We have had the problem with keyboard and mouse filters before(in 2016 and after), but it were single cases, which were related to kavremover utility, improperly installation/uninstallation of Kaspersky products, customer`s registry problems etc.

Wow and still having issues!! Not to revive an old thread but I'm having serious issues just after uninstalling Kapersky. Did a re-install same issue lagging mouse ...seriously lagging ..!!!! The computer is now unusable in this state. Congratulations you proved how immature your software really is ...pffft . Now I, not you have to jump through hoops to clean the garbage up. Sorry to say it this way but if your uninstall doesn't work Correctly and Messes up a computer and you admit it's been an issue since 2016 .... really ? That's basic computer software engineering ...no ? So here's what you should be doing ..fixing what you break ...no ?

First, it's good to know whether you're going to connect the mouse via Bluetooth or with a dongle. That's because you don't need a dongle if you can connect the mouse via Bluetooth. Some Bluetooth mouses don't even include a dongle, such as the MX Master 2 for MacBook / iMac models. To be sure, check the bottom of the mouse. That's where you'll usually find a dongle. If you don't connect the mouse via Bluetooth, you will need a dongle.

If you've followed the steps, it may be that your cursor isn't moving yet. Make sure you turn on the mouse with the button on the bottom. In addition, it's good to check if the mouse is charged, if there are batteries in the mouse, and if you have removed the plastic from underneath the batteries. It also sometimes helps to restart the computer or to update the version of your operating system.

Reassign any button on your mouse to perform virtually any task. For advanced devices, you can adjust the scroll wheel, cursor speed, and much moreMouse button customization available on Windows and macOS, F-key customization available on Windows only.. Enhanced key functions let you set Logitech keyboards to behave just the way you like.

Enable the gesture button to reproduce trackpad gestures you're already familiar with. Hold the gesture button and move the mouse up, down, left or right to activate different actions such as Windows Task View or Mission Control on the Mac. Control your media playback, pan, zoom, and rotate too.

I purchased a larger SSD for my surface laptop 4. Put in the USB key to install windows 11 and during boot I can see it saying disabling drivers for things that could cause issues. Then when in the first W11 screen to select language and location I can't do anything. Trackpad, keyboard, and touchscreen do not work. I can't figure out how to make any inputs. Can anyone help me resolve this issue? My windows USB came from the Microsoft website.

I have a basic license and run synergy server on my MacBook Pro. I run synergy client on an nvidia tx2 dev board and also on a laptop with mint on ubuntu. Synergy works great. Exactly what I want. The mouse and keyboard work fine, copy-n-paste works fine. It's great.

I'm trying to install El Capitan as a VM on a 2018 Mac Mini running Catalina. I get the VMWare splash screen, then the Apple logo boot screen, then drawings of a Mac wireless mouse alternating with what looks like the edge of a laptop. I have bluetooth turned off and a wired mouse connected. I do not ever get to the pick-a-language screen.

Our OS X virtual machines all provide an emulated (wired) USB keyboard and mouse, but the screen you are seeing suggests that the OS X guest is not finding those devices, and the usual reason for this is a compatibility issue with the emulated USB controller. Perhaps try the instructions I posted in this other thread:

I'm having a problem installing Windows 7 on my Dell XPS m1330 notebook. When booting from DVD I get to the screen where you select the language; time and currency; and keyboard input or method only to have no ability to enter them since then there is no keyboard or mouse control.

An alternate approach is to clear the drive completely. Either delete all partitions or write zero's to the drive by using a program like killdisk. The purpose of this is to setup a blank drive for the windows 7 install. When I was reinstalling windows after a motherboard change, I had to start with an empty drive or windows couldn't use it to install.

Once you get the windows 7 system up and running, you can then resize the partitions using something like EaseUS. You can then install Ubuntu to the newly opened up space. I'm not a linux guy so I can't really help with that spot.

Prior to this rying to install Windows 7 on a Dell M1530 would not recognize the native keyboard/mouse, or USB keyboards and mice. It would get to the initial setup screen and I could not interact with the computer. I toggled all the USB settings in the BIOS to no avail, and even switched AHCI to ATA (just in case).

I just ran into the same issue while helping my girlfriend build her gaming PC. We tried everything listed here, and what finally worked was completely disabling USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. It got the Win7 installer to use the PS/2 port. Go figure :/

I have this one weird problem going on with installing new OS X to my iMac. In the beginning of setup it asks to put on the wireless keyboard and mouse. Ok. I put the keyboard and mouse on. Everything works but after you proceed to next step mouse stops working for some reason. Ok. It's not a biggie, it's just a mouse. I can finish the installation using only the keyboard. At least i thought so. It's pretty easy to navigate with tab-button but then it comes to this screen. It tells that OS X will be installed on the selected disk. Ok. But it's impossible to get to the install-button. It just won't go there. Nah.. No matter what you do, what button you press. I've tried to put on the full-tab-thing by pressing fn-ctrl-F7 but still you can't get to continue button. I've tried all kind of crazy combinations but no. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?? With the mouse or with the solution how to navigate to continue button with keyboard.. This is getting ridiculous!!

Thanks. Extremely helpful. I have just spent about an hour trying every key combination I could think of and it was driving me nuts! Not to mention that since I do not have a wired mouse, it was beginning to look as though my Mac would be out of commission for a few days until I could buy one.

The Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center is an app that helps you make the most out of your Microsoft keyboard and mouse. Mouse and Keyboard Center helps you personalize and customize how you work on your PC.

So, I will keep it quick. I want to install ubuntu, but seems like my touchpad doesn't work until I download drivers, and I only have one USB port so a mouse is not an option. Does anybody know a version or a way of Ubuntu where I can just install it with only keyboard? My mouse is Synaptics.EDIT: I am installing the system, I don't have access to terminal

Note: The "MinimalCD" installer requires a Non-UEFI system. You may need to boot into your BIOS and set it to boot in Legacy mode. If your computer only uses UEFI, the "MinimalCD" installer will not work.

If you're using the visual installer, you should be able to press Tab to cycle through the selectable buttons, and Enter to select that option. This site should be able to help you out greatly for this. -help/keyboard-nav.html.en ff782bc1db
