Your Creative Goodie Box

Having all your art supplies in one place or box is useful. That way when you feel the urge to create you will have all your supplies ready to go. You may even wish to create a specific space or table in your house where you can make art when you feel the inspiration. Below is a list of basic items to put in Your Creative Goodie Box. I tried to pick items that most people will have around their homes since shopping for supplies isn’t so easy right now. Have fun gathering your supplies! This is a good time to clean out your drawers and closets and see what types of materials could be used in art projects.

Goodie Box for supplies (Plastic storage bins are great)

Old T-shirt to use as a smock when painting

Basic materials in box:

Brushes Basic set of acrylic paint (black, white, primary, and secondary colors. If you don’t have acrylic you can order it or purchase it at some drugstores. I will try and list substitutions depending on the project. Tempra paint is ok too.)

Scissors tape color markers and pencils eraser Lo temp glue gun and glue sticks (can be purchased at a hardware store) White glue Boxes (cereal and other boxes dry food is packaged in)

Additional Items or treasures:

Beads string fabric (you can even cut up old clothes you’re getting rid of with interesting designs) collage paper interesting pieces of wood scrap, sticks, and small rocks pipe cleaners or wire popsicle sticks
