I love running on the hills and mountains of these Great British Isles and I love a good race.
The fell and hill running scene in the UK has an annual race calendar steeped in history which conjures images of personal achievement and nostalgia.
Race registration might be a cricket club, church hall or even the boot of someone's car in a muddy field. There's kit checks, dibbers, portaloo queues, last minute map checking and those pre race nerves. Pennine Moors, Scottish Glens, Lakeland summits, Welsh 1000's or Shropshire's hills. All have their own challenges with different terrain and of course the unpredictable British weather.
There's short and sharp races to the summit and back or the long tests of endurance and resilience. Then the finish line, a moment or two to recover then a pasty or cake, soup and a roll or soggy cheese sandwich.
I am proud of the fell races I've done, the miles over moor and mountain and the feet climbed and descended in the process. What I wanted was an everyday t-shirt that showed something of the history and difficulty of these races, to wear as a little badge of honour.
I wanted to find quality and comfort alongside a design that meant something to me so I decided to produce my own t-shirts. It was important for me to work with local businesses in sourcing the printing and packaging. Recycled cardboard packaging reduces the environmental impact of single use plastic bags and the letterbox friendly size means you won't miss your delivery.
With all of this in mind I have created Mountain Tops T-shirts - I hope they bring you happiness.
