Back Country Horsemen of America (BCHA) is a nation-wide organization that is committed to protecting the access of equestrians to public lands. We are devoted equestrians who love to ride and explore new trails. We assist with trail maintenance and improvement projects, keeping trails clear for all user groups. We welcome riders of all types, ages and interests into our chapters!

Backcountry Horsemen's mission is to protect and keep public lands and trails open for stock use. We work to perpetuate the common sense use and enjoyment of horses and mules in America's back country and wilderness, and to ensure that public lands remain open to recreational stock use. We also assist the various agencies responsible for the maintenance and management of public lands on a voluntary basis. We donate hours of time to clear and maintain trails for everyone to use.
