Mount Afton Challenge
Hosted by F3 Afton

January 14, 2023 8am -10am

In the spirit of giving back, F3 Afton is excited to announce that we will be hosting the 3rd Annual Mount Afton Challenge. Join us for this great cause and find out who can complete the most 1 mile laps in the Runner and Rucker divisions and earn the title… Mountain G.O.A.T. of Afton.

This year's event is a fundraiser for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention services, which has impacted F3 Afton in a very personal way over the past year and obviously many more in our community at large. Thru the F3 Foundation, F3 Afton will donate funds raised for this event to the Cabarrus County Chapter of NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

WHEN: Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 8am – 10am

WHERE: Afton Village – 5401 Village Drive NW, Concord, NC 28027 (Near The Wine Room)

WHO: Anyone looking for a Running, Rucking or Walking challenge.

Registration will not commit you to contin
uous running/rucking for the entire 2 hours. The challenge is simply you vs. you… what you can do! There will be prizes for the runners and ruckers with the most distance covered.

Following the event: 10am – until… The Wine Room in Afton Village will be open early to serve food and drinks for our participants, volunteers, and supporters as we conclude the event.

More about Mental Health and Suicide Prevention...

As mentioned above, our AO and the larger community lost a great one to suicide on July 22, 2021. We have done our best to honor our friend, our brother… Damon Hudgens (Amway), but there is more work to do and more impact to be made in his name. His loss is still fresh and brings with it a heightened awareness of so many others in our community that are also experiencing tough times and finding themselves in dark places. As a result, we have decided funds raised from the 2023 Mount Afton Challenge will be provided to an entity that can help us with our mission to best ensure this type of loss never happens again. That organization is the Cabarrus County Chapter of NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness! Click here to lean more about NAMI.

To our brother... you will be missed, but not forgotten! #ForAmway (Damon Hudgens)

Mental Battle...

Our brothers at F3 Louisville created #f3mentalbattle with a goal to bring awareness to mental health issues that affect everyone, with a particular focus on adult men... where mental illness and suicide is at a crisis level. F3 Nation has embraced this idea and encourages Pax to bring up the topic of mental health, and for Pax to speak however their heart so moves them knowing that it will be confidential with their brothers. The hope and prayer is that an on-going reminder like #f3mentalbattle is another small step toward a stronger brotherhood of men that will result in no more premature loss of life. The message is simple... you are NOT OWN YOUR OWN! We love you and we are here! #NoOYO
