Executive Board
PRESIDENT: Nicole Simones
Primarily responsible for supporting the Booster Club mission. General Booster Club organization, fundraising and planning. First point of contact for funding requests from Head Coach or team. Maintain direct communication with Club Treasurer to ensure budget needs are met; also required to be added as a 2nd signer on Club bank account. Liaison between Booster Club, coaches, captains and HS AD(s). Example of tasks commonly coordinated by President include:
· Maintenance of club By-Laws.
· Team apparel ordering (with Captains) and general spirit wear selections.
· Team/event scheduling, including team meals (events may have specific Chairs).
· Coordination with MVIF Representative for funding needs.
· Coordination of Captain’s Practices (scheduling ice and coaches).
· Ordering Section t-shirts.
· Fundraising Coordinator (if Chair is not separately named). Responsible for planning all aspects of fundraising events, including player/volunteer scheduling and ensuring collected funds are securely delivered to Club Treasurer. These may be assigned to VP or subcommittee chairs.
VICE PRESIDENT: Jen Smith-Otte
Primary responsibility is supporting the President, subcommittees and mission of the Booster Club. Out-of-town planning and coordination of bus, hotels, food and social events. Coordinate meals for carbo loads, section tournaments and all team travel. Organize team volunteer and community service opportunities. Coordinate team and parent bonding events.
TREASURER: Neil Koepcke
Primarily responsible for maintaining Club’s 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, including annual tax filing, and managing Club bank account and all Club funds received through fundraising, donations or other income sources (merch sales, Club fees, etc.). Also responsible for ensuring Club bills are paid from Club account and issuing payments for reimbursement requests.
· Create annual budget and report status to Club Executive Board at each meeting (or as requested by any Club member).
· Direct and frequent communication with Club President.
SECRETARY: Laura Heineman
Schedule monthly Booster Club meetings. Take minutes at the meetings and send to Web Master for posting. Follow up with Booster Club on deadlines and commitments.
MEMBER AT LARGE: Katie Johnson
Primary responsibility is supporting the Booster Club mission and subcommittees.
Committees, Chairs and Volunteer Opportunities
May not be all-inclusive. Chairs can be added as necessary for the season.
FUNDRAISING & SPONSORSHIPS: John Simones
Work directly with Booster Club President and Treasurer
GAME DAY PROGRAM: Nicole Simones, John Simones & Angie Demeny
Primary responsibility for planning production of the current season’s Game Day printed program. This includes securing business and personal sponsorships (solicitation, requesting art graphics, collecting funds), and coordinating with the Program designer (may be an outside vendor) for creation and printing. Ensure collected funds are securely delivered to Booster Club Treasurer.
· Work on Program must begin late summer/early fall to ensure completion of program and warm-up jersey by beginning of season
CHUCK-A-PUCK: John Simones
Coordination of Chuck-a-Puck game at all home games. Includes volunteer scheduling and managing of funds collected each time. Recruit parents (2 per home game) to work the table. Set up, bring sign-up sheets, get table/pucks from Super Rink. Coordinate youth or others to retrieve pucks from the ice each game.
COMPOST: John Simones
Reserve preseason date for team volunteer at compost. Coordinate groups of players and adults. Ensure donations are securely delivered to Booster Club Treasurer.
GROCERY BAGGING: John Simones
Reserve dates and location for team volunteer. Coordinate groups of players and adults. Ensure donations are securely delivered to Booster Club.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST COORDINATOR: Angie Demeny
Coordinate date and details for pancake breakfast fundraiser. Coordinate groups of players and adults to operate event. Coordinate sales of tickets. Includes coordination of bake sale at event, as appropriate. Ensure donations are securely delivered to Booster Club Treasurer.
COMMITTEE MEMBERS
SOCIAL MEDIA: Sabrina Horak
Primary responsibility to update and manage team social media accounts for game day updates, birthday shout outs, etc.
WEBSITE MANAGER: Laura Heineman
Maintain team website with current postings on events, team information and schedule. Work with Booster Club President and Head Coach on making all schedule changes accurately and timely.
COMMUNITY LIAISON: Nicole Simones
Primary responsibility for coordinating team representation at local events (e.g., parades) and team community outreach or service events.
YOUTH LIAISON: Nicole Simones
Serve as primary point of contact to/from the youth association. Plan and/or coordinate MVIYA Youth Day & Alumni events, mite/U8/U6 volunteer skating opportunities, and help to coordinate any MN Hockey day events with MVIYA program.
MVI FOUNDATION / LAKE REGION AREA HOCKEY REPRESENTATIVE: Dave Walsh
Represent team at Mounds View Irondale Foundation (MVIF) monthly meetings and bring team funding requests to Foundation. Ensure funding is securely received by the Booster Club Treasurer. Team MUST have active representation at MVIF meetings in order to receive Foundation funds.
SPECIAL EVENTS: Katie Johnson and Brittani Cummins
Lead all special events or coordinate subcommittee chairs for Super Fan Night, Youth Night, Safety Night, bands, choir, coordinates with Senior Night committee.
SENIOR NIGHT: Katie Johnson and Brittani Cummins
Event planning and coordination. Plan and coordinate the event with players and parents, including booking Super Rink, photographer, cake, drinks, flowers, balloons, Senior Gifts, Senior speeches, Senior Boards, announcer, etc.
PARENTS SOCIAL EVENTS: Angie Demeny and Jen Dahl
Responsible for planning parent social outings before and/or after games. May include out of town tournament.
OUT OF TOWN TRIP COORDINATOR: Jen Smith-Otte
Coordination and planning of all aspects of any out-of-town travel being done by team. This includes scheduling team bus, hotel and meals. Bus and hotel are already booked for 2024. This will mostly involve meals and snacks for team and parent gathering.
BANQUET COORDINATOR: Katie Johnson, Brittani Cummins
End of season team banquet planning and coordination. Reserve location and select menu items. Also responsible for cake, name tags, banquet agenda, table decorations, gifts and gift cards for coaches, managers and end of season video. Coordinate with Booster Club to send invitations and announcements regarding time and location, fee collections and payments. All volunteers set up and tear down banquet room.
