Broken vision exhibition is an investigation into the phenomenon of déjà vu, where an error occurs in a fraction of a second in one of the lobes of the brain, causing the illusion of seeing things as if you had seen them before.
The work is inspired by" the King Abu La " play by Fred Geary in 1896, where deception in historical events is repeated periodically, just as deception occurs in the phenomenon of déjà vu
from themovie
artwork description:
first part: An installation in the void, consists of layers of magnetic tapes found in used video tapes which were compiled from flea market, consecutively stretched from floor to ceiling, but allows a space of two meters for roaming inside. These layers serve as a display screen for the projector.
the second part: A 9-minute short film based on Alfred Jarry’s play “Ubu Roi” is displayed. the video was filmed in Faculty of Fine Arts- Alexandria, inside the Photography Department, where the character, inspired by the play, moves in silence and with repeated monotonous movement within the academy's studios.
artwork concept:
Déjà vu, or “seen before” as famously known, is an anomaly phenomenon of memory that occurs in a split of a second between the left part of the brain seeing something before the right part sees it, or vice versa. whereby it seems that one has been in this place before or has experienced this present event in the past.
this anomaly (error) also occurs when using the video display, so the artwork was made using collected magnetic video tapes, which is a material that presents this error, as if this material is from the memory of the markets. the play “Ubu Roi” which was written in 1899, was chosen due its story about the military chief “Ubu” usurping the throne, and while the people were in support and stood with him, he started to impose taxes. meanwhile the former king tried to restore his reign, but at the end he lost, and “Ubu” remains in power as a king. it is a very recurring story in the memory of human history across different places and times. History usually repeats itself, and also the human experiences are, as it happens exactly in the phenomenon of déjà vu. It is an error that occurs in a fraction of a second, and the same error also occurs when the video is displayed. As it displays 30 frames per second, when the anomaly or the error occurs in the electromagnetic field responsible for arranging the images, the images are repeated again, as it happens in déjà vu phenomenon

( the delicious cake )
the cake went through three stories and the fourth is happening now
In order to be accepted into the Conceptual Art Exhibition, I can't put the painting on the wall, so I must use a different medium. That's why I chose cupcake molds made of gypsum and arranged them on the floor to control the steps of the Attendees .
During the Corona pandemic, the exhibition was cancelled, so the molds became useless. So I washed the molds, reused them in cooking, and prepared the cupcakes inside them. I found that everything was fine and the cake was really delicious.
While trying to display it for the third time on New Year's Day I found one of cakes shops post says : "this shop doesn't make the new year cakes , or any kind of birthdays cakes"
The scholars of the Islamic nation have unanimously agreed that it is not permissible to celebrate birthdays or New Year’s Day, because these holidays are new and it is not permissible to support them.
The current exhibition was postponed for seven days in mourning for the events in Gaza. During the past few days, there was one question on the shelves of all shops: What is the country of origin of this product?
